Carlsberg Group entered Myanmar in 2013 by forming a joint venture with Myanmar Golden Star Breweries (MGS). On 7 May 2015, the first bottle of Carlsberg was filled at the state-of-the-art brewery in Bago, marking the official commencement of Carlsberg’s business operations in Myanmar. Carlsberg Myanmar brews two international brands – Carlsberg and Tuborg, as well as two local favourites – Yoma and Black Eagle, that are all distributed and sold nationwide.
Carlsberg Myanmar currently employs more than 400 people, of whom 99% are Myanmar nationals. The company has also received several accolades for its excellence in talent management, workplace culture and innovation.
The company was also recognised as a model employer at the prestigious Myanmar Employer Awards from 2018 to 2022, receiving awards in different categories including “The Best Use of Technology in HR”. In September 2022, the company was named one of the “Best Companies to Work in Myanmar 2022”; and in October 2022, the company was certified as a “Great Place to Work®” by a global workplace authority which shares the same name.

2020 | The brewery in Bago completes its sixth year without LTA. Carlsberg Myanmar is recognised as a model employer with four awards at the prestigious Myanmar Employer Awards. |
